“Fit as a Fiddle” is Theme for Annual Fundraising Concert
You’ve heard that music can enrich your spirit, and provide you with mental health. Have you heard that music can also offer you the physical wellbeing that can “move” your body and “connect” you with the rhythm of nature? Oshkosh Youth Symphony (OYSO) is proud to present “Fit as a Fiddle” Fundraiser Concert on Monday February 15, 2010 at the UW-O Music Hall in the Arts & Communication Center starting at 7:30 pm.
Don’t let the cold winter take away your inner call to feel happy and healthy! Directed by the renowned Geraldine Grine, the concert will bring you the masterpiece of Morton Gould, "The Jogger and The Dinosaur" which unites human with dinosaur through amazing dances with a surprising twist on nutrition.
The Oshkosh Youth Symphony Orchestra will open the first segment of the concert with Hoedown from "Rodeo" by Aaron Copland, then move to a slow, beautiful Slavonic Dance Op. 72, No. 2 by Antonin Dvorak, followed by an unforgettable Latin tango and rhumba. The first half of the concert will end with a Hungarian Dance No.5 piece by Johannes Brahms.
Are you ready to dance? Come to “Fit as a Fiddle”! Admission is $5.00 per person. Tickets may be purchased at the door or in advance from any OYSO or Philharmonia musician. Funds raised from this concert will be used to create scholarships and to offset expenses so that more youth may participate in the youth symphony orchestras in future years.
